Weight Loss for Obese Adults
Weight Loss for Obese Adults-Research Methodology
Obesity is fast becoming a global health issue. My project entails a health promotion campaign on matters [blur] regarding weight loss among obese adults. A collection of data required to substantiate evidence in the project will come from some sources like the Center for Disease Control (CDC) inventories [/blur]and data websites, Medicaid and physical surveys conducted on the test subjects (obese adults).
The methodology will focus on a monitored group of obese adults undergoing treatment for the same who will [blur] regularly answer some questionnaires as well as provide their medical information regarding their condition since the onset of the study and surveys. I have identified a group of 17 obese adults who will form the primary experimental group. Each member of the group will be treated as a separate test subject and treatment, and [/blur] medical information will be recorded differently for further analysis and comparison to those of other test subjects.
Apart from the controlled test subjects and the experimental group, [blur] data from some facilities and online journals will help. A visit to my state’s Health Department will provide data on the state’s obesity menace trend for comparison with data obtained from the experimental [/blur] group and the national data regarding obesity, particularly from the CDC inventories.
Since the project entails assessment and treatment of obesity, quasi-experiment [blur] is the most appropriate research design to address given that we are dealing with a group of test subjects. Waltz et al. (2014) describe the quasi-experiment as the best research design to adopt for health matters evaluation and health education programs. The research will focus majorly on the adults with Body Mass Index (BMI) 25 and more. Those with BMI greater than 35 will be treated[/blur] and monitored separately from the rest of the test group members.
